About Bearsac
I am a teddy bear rucksack. This is my second incarnation, having been snatched from Mummy Debra on 3rd December 2011 and then remade in April 2019. Mummy Debra bought on the 26th of August 1997 in Belgium. She could not resist my expressive face. She breathed life into me. The moment our eyes met, I was. At last, I had found my Medium; my instrument of communication. For although I had a voice, I had no mouth to articulate it. So I used Mummy’s.
Whilst travelling together by train through Tanzania, as the train was pulling out of the village of Kinyanguru, I waved at the children outside. In a sorrowful moment, I was grabbed by a nasty little man. In an instant, my glorious life was over. Mummy Debra was devastated. I had lived the high life and travelled the world, gatecrashed celebrity parties, interviewed several famous people, and had been photographed with many more.
In my original body, I am the featured teddy bear of Debra’s book Travels with my Teddy Bear (Travelogues and Musings of a Woman with Asperger’s Syndrome and Her Teddy Bear).
In April 2019, Mummy remade me after posting a post on a teddy bear making forum asking if someone could design a pattern of me from photos and videos of me in my original incarnation. The bear is back in town, and to living the high life!

A passion of mine is helping Mummy Debra with house and pet sitting around the world. We have house-sat in various countries. About Mummy Debra
Hello from Bearsac’s creator. And, of course, his Mummy!
Being mesmerised by a teddy bear rucksack at a market in Ostende, Belgium, I had to buy it. Bearsac was to be his name. He was with me for 14 years in his original body before he was snatched from me in Tanzania on the 3rd of December 2011.
April 2019, saw me remake Bearsac. His ego is even bigger than in his original incarnation!
Like Bearsac, I am a little wacky! Where do you think he gets his wakiness from? It’s nurture. Not nature!
In 2005, at 38, I was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, which was more recently relabelled as mild Autistic Spectrum Disorder. See My Autism page.

People often ask me why I do the Bearsac thing. In short, it is a hobby. And I enjoy human behaviour. I am amused to see the ways people react to the unusual.
Eccentric, yes, but I am rather sensible and am still finding my potential, when other people arrogantly assume they have reached the top of theirs already!
